Candle Community Trust

Youth Service

The Youth Service in Candle is for young people aged 10-25 years old. We have a range of groups: Youth Cafés, Drop ins, afternoon, evening and weekend sessions.

Funded under the UBU Your Place Your Space scheme, the Youth Service provides young people with a safe space where they can be themselves.

Through their participation young people build positive relationships and engage in a wide range of recreational and developmental programmes.

The needs and voice of the young people are central to the service. Youth Workers support the development of an environment that is conducive to personal and social growth and wellbeing. Young people also have the opportunity to take part in a leadership programme.

The Youth Service works with young people in a number of ways including:

    • Small group work
    • Large group work
    • Outreach
    • Residential trips
    • Events
    • One to ones

      Outcomes for Young People:

Young people who attend the Youth Service also have access to the Therapeutic Space at Candle.

We work proactively to include young people from marginalised communities in our youth service, particularly young people from refugee and migrant communities, young Travellers, young parents and members of the LGBTQI+ community.

The Youth Service strives to work with young people using an early intervention approach, facilitating learning opportunities and pro social activities.
