The Full Time Training Programme offers a range of educational and developmental modules for young people between the ages of 16 to 20. It is primarily aimed at early school leavers or young people who left school without qualification. However responding to needs, our programme has developed to include a  range of modules for young people who have completed second level education.

Modules are offered at Level 3 and Level 4. The principal accrediation goal of each young person that attends the training programme is a major award at QQI Level 3 or QQI Level 4. The awards are assessed on National Framework of Qualifications (NFQ).

Our referrals come from Probation/IYJS, JLO's, HSE, TULSA, local agencies, family and self. Each young person is assigned an individual keyworker who provides opportunities for planning, support and mentoring. During the training great emphasis is placed upon developmental needs as well as educational attainment.

There are 20 places available and the duration of the programme is initially one year while an extension into a second year is possible if deemed appropriate. All participants receive a CDETB training allowance during the training.

A particular focus is placed on the following:

  • Learning key life skills
  • Developing  competence using craft/work tools
  • Improved literacy skills
  • Restorative practice methodologies
